After suspected herdsmen recently attacked the Yelewata community in Guma local government, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun arrived in Benue State on Monday.
This was announced by the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) in a post on 𝕏, according to Naija News.
More tactical teams were instructed to be deployed to the North-Central state by the IGP.
In order to address the state’s rampant insecurity, President Bola Tinubu has ordered additional security chiefs to arrive in Benue State.

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Advisor to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, announced this development in a statement on Sunday.
In order to establish enduring peace and security in Benue State, Onanuga stated that the President instructed the security chiefs to carry out his previous directive.
Approximately 200 people were killed in the most recent spate of retaliatory attacks, which prompted President Tinubu to reportedly extend his order.
