June 18, Makurdi, 2025 In response to the devastating attacks on Yelwata and the neighboring towns, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a solidarity visit to Makurdi, Benue State, this morning. The visit, which was brought on by the increasing violence that has killed dozens of people and displaced thousands more, demonstrated the federal government’s will to confront the security issue and promote national cohesion.
President Tinubu was greeted by Governor Hyacinth Alia, prominent government officials, and traditional leaders at the Makurdi Airport.
