The University of Africa, Toru-Orua, hosted a historic combined convocation ceremony to honor graduates from the 2020 to 2024 academic years. The ceremony brought together government officials, royal dignitaries, academic leaders, and proud families to renew the institution’s dedication to excellence in education, research, and service.
Speaking at the occasion, Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri praised the graduates’ determination and their decision to study at a young college. He emphasized his administration’s support for the university’s expansion, emphasizing the importance of innovative finance options outside state expenditures.
“The University of Africa has the potential to chart new paths in innovation and secure alternative, sustainable funding sources beyond what the Bayelsa State Government can provide,” said Diri, the governor.
“As a token of appreciation for your efforts, the top graduating student in each degree will be given automatic employment. Your decision to trust a new institution over a long-standing one speaks volumes. Today, you are ambassadors for this ambitious university, and I am devoted to establishing it as a center for knowledge, progress, and excellence.”
A first-class graduate, speaking on behalf of the graduating class, expressed excitement and thanks. The student emphasized the guts required to choose the university and the common pride in accomplishing this milestone.
