The recently refurbished Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre is fully booked through 2027, according to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike. This indicates strong demand and validates the government’s investment in the facility.
In Abuja, Wike made this revelation on Thursday while the Kugbo Bus and Taxi Terminal was being commissioned. The project was one of several development initiatives started to commemorate President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office.
The ₦39 billion that was spent on conference center renovations had drawn criticism from the public. However, Wike claimed that the project was a good investment because of the large number of reservations and recent high-profile usage, which included an ECOWAS meeting that President Tinubu hosted.
That convention center is currently reserved through 2027, as I speak to you. “There is no more room,” the minister said.
“I noticed that the deputy speaker applied for a constitutional amendment event, but there isn’t a date available. Since the facility isn’t free, I’m attempting to make adjustments, assuming he can pay on time.

Wike emphasized that no government figure or arm is free from the facility’s commercial operations.
A National Assembly waiver is unmatched. To ensure sustainability, everyone must pay to utilize the facilities.
Wike praised President Tinubu for his leadership and pointed out that making audacious choices despite opposition is necessary for real success.
“A leader cannot be successful if they do not make decisions.” Whether you do something or not, people will always have something to say. The important thing is to take action and keep going.
The minister emphasized continuous efforts to update Abuja’s transportation infrastructure, stating that the recently finished Kugbo and Mabushi Bus Terminals and the current construction of a second terminal in the Central Business District are intended to improve public transportation in the Federal Capital Territory.
“Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for all locals, wealthy and poor alike, not just the elite. “That’s the way to advance this nation, and President Tinubu has embraced that vision,” Wike continued.
The changes demonstrate the administration’s commitment to building essential infrastructure while improving the Federal Capital Territory’s usability and attractiveness.
