Finally, the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup round of 16 is complete, and the quarterfinal schedule has been formally announced.
On Saturday night and early this morning, the last round of 16 matches in the Club World Cup were played throughout the United States.
European football powerhouse Real Madrid eliminated rival Juventus with a single goal in the match that was played on Saturday night.
Real Madrid’s recent acquisition, Trent Alexander-Arnold, assisted Gonzalo García in the 54th minute to seal the narrow 1-0 victory at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in front of 62,149 spectators.
The German Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund had a very strong first half against the Mexican team Monterrey in the match that was played earlier today.
To ensure Dortmund won the first half, 29-year-old Guinea international Serhou Guirassay opened the scoring in the 14th minute and doubled the lead in the 24th.
Germán Berterame’s goal in the 48th minute gave the Mexican team a response, although they fought back in the second half. Dortmund lost 2-1, though, so that was regrettably insufficient to stop them.
After those matches, Real Madrid will play Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals on Saturday, July 5 at 9 p.m.

The quarterfinal matchup between Al-Hilal, who shocked Premier League powerhouse Manchester City 4-3 on Tuesday, and Fluminense, a Brazilian powerhouse, is set for Friday, July 4 at 8 p.m.
Paris Saint-Germain, the current UEFA Champions League winners, will play Bayern Munich at 5 p.m. on Saturday, while Chelsea will play Brazilian team Palmeiras at 2:00.
Please take note that Jude Bellingham will not be able to play against his younger brother, Jobe Bellingham, when Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund battle.
The 19-year-old English kid was given a yellow card during Dortmund’s 2-1 victory over Monterrey, which is why. His second booking in the 2025 Club World Cup has resulted in his exclusion from the upcoming match.
