Hon. Aliyu Bello has been ordered by a Senior District Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, to refrain from posing as the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman or parading himself.
The Senior District Judge, Hon. Abdullah M. Lanze, issued the court ruling on July 3, 2025, in response to an ex parte motion that Ibrahim Iliyasu, the plaintiff, filed through his attorney, Z.Y. Suleiman Turaki Esq.
According to the court proceedings, Blessing Emmanuel Ayaka, a litigation secretary at the J.J. Gbaja and Associates law firm, deposed a 12-paragraph affidavit supporting the request, along with evidence.
The court allowed the application as requested after concluding that it had merit.
The court order partially stated, “It is hereby ordered that the respondent (Hon. Aliyu Bello), whether by himself, his agents, privies, supporters, or any person acting on his behalf, authority, or direction, is restrained from further parading himself, issuing statements, or acting in any manner whatsoever as a member or chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State.”

Additionally, until the substantive motion on notice is heard and decided, Hon. Bello is prohibited from performing any duties or communicating in his capacity as APC chairman, including through the media.
On the same day, July 3, 2025, court officials verified that the District Court Registrar had properly signed and stamped the order.
This comes while the Nasarawa APC is still embroiled in internal strife, with several factions vying for legitimacy and leadership inside the party hierarchy.
