FULL LIST: Buhari’s Funeral Committee: Tinubu Appoints Akume, Wike, Ribadu, Others

Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s state funeral will be organized by an interministerial committee that President Bola Tinubu has approved.

Buhari passed away at a London, UK, clinic on Sunday.

At first, Monday was the planned arrival date for the former president’s body in Nigeria.

However, Buhari’s remains would arrive in the nation by Tuesday at noon, according to Katsina Governor Dikko Radda, and burial would occur two hours later.

It is anticipated that the remains of his late predecessor will be given to Tinubu.

According to a statement from Segun Imohiosen, director of information and public relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Federation (OSGF), George Akume, the SGF, is in charge of spearheading the committee and organizing a fitting state funeral for the deceased former president.

Serving as the committee’s secretariat will be the general services office (GSO), the permanent secretary’s office, and the chief of defense staff.

According to Imohiosen, Tinubu has also instructed all ministries, divisions, and agencies (MDAs) to make condolence registries available at the entrance of their offices so that people can honor Buhari.

A central condolence register for the general public and diplomatic community would be opened at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he continued.
