Actor Ugezu J. Ugezu of Nollywood has criticized Senate President Godswill Akpabio for contesting the court ruling that reinstated Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
According to reports, Ugezu expressed his opinions on Instagram.
When a competent court ruled that Natasha’s suspension was illegal and ordered her to return to the Senate, the filmmaker questioned why Akpabio would contest the decision.
He reminded Akpabio and Natasha that they were both elected by the people and that no senator could permanently remove another from office.
Instead than dragging out a colleague’s reinstatement through drawn-out legal fights, Ugezu urged the Senate President to put aside frivolities and concentrate on important legislative work.

In the same way that she was chosen to represent her people, you were voted to represent YOUR people, he wrote. Now you have her suspended. A competent court ordered the reinstatement of an elected senator after ruling that you have no authority to suspend her indefinitely. Moreover, are you appealing the verdict? Can you forego frivolities and fulfill your actual legislative responsibilities, Senate President Sir?
According to reports, the Federal High Court in Abuja’s ruling ordering Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to be recalled to the higher legislative chamber after her suspension was challenged by Senate President Godswill Akpabio in a notice of appeal.
The appeal, which was filed on July 14, 2025, at the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, is registered under the number CA/A//2025.
It is related to the lawsuit that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan brought earlier to challenge her six-month Senate ban (suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/384/2025).
