President Bola Tinubu’s biggest error, according to Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was the nomination of Nyesom Wike as FCT Minister.
Kingibe was said to have mentioned this in an interview with ARISE Television.
The lawmaker from the Labour Party (LP) criticized President Tinubu for giving Wike such political prominence despite being an opposition member, saying, “It is my personal opinion that that is rather unfortunate, because if I were making a list of all the things that President Tinubu has done wrong, the greatest wrong he has done to himself, the thing that has demarcated him the most has been on Minister Wike.”

In response to recent polls that indicated Wike’s popularity, she stated, “If, in fact, Minister Wike is as popular as Depending on who did the poll and how it was done, you’re referring to that particular survey. There will be local government elections in a few months, and I’m not criticizing it.
“When we have an election of any kind, can he tell the people, ‘Go and do this, and they do it?'” she added. If he is unable to, it indicates that all ministers have been doing is raising their voices and blustering.
Kingibe further charged that the minister had turned land intended for a general hospital into something else. “Land has been set aside at Bwari for a general hospital. When Minister Wike revokes it, he has a market, mall, or other event set up there. The whole FCT, including embassies, has been the target of Minister Wike’s ground rent harassment.
“Oh, I’m going to take those documents and go to the body, the equivalent of his state assembly, and insist that that assembly, the president from whom Wike derives his powers, goes back to the National Assembly for approval for everything,” Kingibe said, referring to the documents she said demonstrated Wike’s abuse of power.
He is the source of Wike’s authority, and he only brings the budget to the National Assembly. TSA, what has he done with all of his IGR? He has never been held accountable.
