After former vice president Atiku Abubakar resigned from the People Democratic Party (PDP), Isaac Fayose, the brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, responded.
Fayose reportedly called Atiku’s departure a great relief for the party in a video posted on his Instagram page.
“I personally wanted to see the former presidential candidate suspended from the PDP for years,” he stated.
He criticized Atiku for leaving the party for the third time in 20 years, calling it an obvious show of desperation.
He encouraged Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential contender for 2023, to think about rejoining the PDP.

According to Fayose, the party should allocate its 2027 presidential ticket to the South in order to field a formidable candidate to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election.
