The Oyo State Police Command has successfully dismantled a one-chance robbery gang and arrested two suspected members based on actionable intelligence. This discovery comes after a video went viral, exposing the gang’s illegal operations in the Ibadan region.
After a video went viral revealing the gang’s actions, the Commissioner of Police of Oyo State Police Command ordered the Command’s Tactical Units to capture the criminals. In order to find the gang members, the squads immediately engaged their informant networks and began a thorough search.
Adewale Osifeso, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Oyo State Command, said in a statement on Wednesday that their efforts were successful on July 12, 2025, when the Command Monitoring Unit’s information provided the whereabouts of suspected one-chance robbers. The suspects were found by Unit police on the Old Ibadan/Oyo Road at approximately 3:30 pm that day.

Members of the criminal ring were later caught and placed under arrest, including the following: Ibadan’s Olomoyeye Muslim Area is home to Kolawole Moshood, a 42-year-old man, and Beyerunka Area is home to Opeyemi Kuburat, a 45-year-old woman.
The defendants’ suspected usage of a Nissan Almera car (Registration Number: Lagos FST 779 DL) in their illegal activities was found during the operation. The two admitted during questioning that they were important members of a one-chance robbery gang that operated in Ibadan and the surrounding areas. They also acknowledged stealing the car and used it to defraud several individuals.
As they aid in the investigation, the suspects are presently being held by the police. As of right now, three victims have come forward and acknowledged them as the thieves who stole their goods from them on different dates. The investigation to find and capture additional gang members and retrieve their weapons is still in progress.
