His principal’s resignation letter from the Peoples Democratic Party was leaked, according to Paul Ibe, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s media adviser.
On Wednesday, the July 14 resignation letter of Abubakar appeared online.
Atiku was criticized by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo for releasing the resignation letter while the country was in mourning for former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari passed away at a London clinic in the United Kingdom (UK) on Sunday. He was buried in Daura, Katsina state, on Tuesday.
In honor of Buhari, President Bola Tinubu proclaimed a seven-day national mourning.
Along with accusing Atiku of being a government official, Keyamo criticized the former vice president for announcing his resignation from the opposition party on letterhead bearing the organization’s coat of arms.
Ibe said that “rogue elements” within the PDP were responsible for the resignation letter’s disclosure during his appearance on News Night, an Arise Television program, on Wednesday.
Ibe mentioned the letter when he remarked, “people who never wished his excellency Atiku Abubakar well leaked a communication of his.”

It’s regrettable that the minister of aviation, who ought to be focused on aviation issues, which include runways and improved infrastructure, would interrupt the debate.

“We are having this discussion because that communication was leaked by factions within the PDP who were conspiring with the members of the APC.”
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been chosen as the platform for the 2027 elections by the opposition coalition, which includes Atiku, who is aiming for the presidency.
