According to reports, Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, recently wed his fourth wife.
The Federal Capital Territory’s Kubwa neighborhood hosted the private wedding ceremony over the weekend.
Only close family members and a select group of reliable friends and associates were present.
There was no big celebration or public gathering to welcome the new wife, 23-year-old Hiqma, into the Bello home.
Bello’s third wife, Hafiza, announced the marriage on Instagram on Sunday, welcoming Hiqma as the newest member of their family.
“Thank God, our family has grown a bit and has become more affectionate,” she wrote. Greetings to Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello, our newest family member! May Allah grant us love, serenity, and barakah in our home and bless our relationship. “Amin!”
Bello, 50, who presided over Kogi State from 2016 to 2024, is already wed to three women: Hafiza, Rashidat, and Amina Oyiza.
Amina, his first wife, is a philanthropist and lawyer who is well-known for starting the Hayat Foundation, which helps Kogi State’s most needy communities.
The former governor is presently being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged money laundering of more than N80 billion.
