President Bola Tinubu’s silence over rumors that he intends to fire Vice President Kashim Shettima before the 2027 election has angered Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, a former Special Adviser to the president on political matters.
There are rumors of a purported plot to remove Vice President Kashim Shettima from President Tinubu’s running mate list, according to the report.

Remember that in a June interview at the height of the rumors, presidential spokeswoman Bayo Onanuga called the claim a “non-issue,” saying that President Tinubu will only select his running partner after receiving the nomination of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
But in an interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Baba-Ahmed, who left the Tinubu administration roughly three months ago, claimed that if the rumor was indeed a “non-issue,” the President ought to have personally refuted it.
“What causes all these reports about dropping him (Shettima) would be of great interest to me. “I believe that the President ought to have taken action a long time ago, somewhere along the line,” Baba-Ahmed stated.
