As part of the Renewed Hope Housing initiative, the federal government will begin a campaign to promote home ownership and housing development on a state-by-state basis.
This was announced by Ahmed Dangiwa, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, at the 19th Africa International Housing Show (AIHS) in Abuja.
He stated that by offering a range of housing options and making homeownership more accessible, the campaign seeks to meet housing needs throughout Nigeria, irrespective of income level.
According to Dangiwa, the initiative will make housing available to all Nigerians and will be implemented in the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to our correspondent, Festus Adebayo, the CEO of AISH, organized the conference on Tuesday in Abuja with the topic “Re-imagining Housing through Innovation, Collaboration, and Policy.”

The Minister asserts that the worst gaps in housing delivery occur at the subnational level, where many State Governments lack the financial resources, planning mechanisms, and technical expertise necessary to take immediate action.
According to him, state governments, private sector investors, and foreign development partners would work together to implement the program.
I am happy to announce that, in partnership with state governments, the private sector, and development partners, we will begin a State-by-State Homeownership and Housing Development Campaign, a high-impact outreach effort.
The objective is to equip residents with the information and resources they need to access affordable housing possibilities while bridging the gap between national housing policy and state-level implementation.
“As part of this effort, we want to organize State Housing Roundtables to examine current housing construction plans and assign housing reform advocates as Special Advisers to State Governors.
“In order to structure feasible projects and unlock financing, we will also offer hands-on support, create actionable roadmaps, and provide technical advice.”
According to Dangiwa, the campaign would also guarantee conformity with federal programs, which would allow governments to obtain financial and technical assistance from organizations.
Among the institutions were Shelter Afrique Development Bank, the MoFI Real Estate Investment Fund (MREIF), Family Homes Funds, Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company (NMRC), Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), and others.
As a result, I urge leaders in the commercial sector, donor organizations, DFIs, and other development partners to back our effort.
“Let’s take what we learn from conferences like this and apply it to real-world projects in our communities.”
According to Dangiwa, plans to form a National Housing Policy Coordination and Monitoring Committee led by experts have been finalized in order to demonstrate the government’s renewed political commitment to housing delivery.
According to him, this was done in order to assess and document how the National Housing Policy and other housing sector initiatives were being implemented.
“A place to live is not a privilege. It is the cornerstone of productivity, dignity, health, and national stability; it is more than just a roof.
“We are investing in people, jobs, cities, and the future when we invest in housing,” he stated.
According to Dangiwa, the ministry acknowledged that the government cannot raise the necessary funds on its own to address the housing shortage.
He claimed that in order to create Renewed Hope Cities, which are aimed at middle-class to upper-class individuals, the government was utilizing Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) with respectable developers.
According to him, the government has so far drawn in almost N70 billion in private sector investment.
The Minister praised the Africa International Housing Show organizers, under the leadership of Mr. Festus Adebayo, for their dedication to housing development and their constancy.
Mr. Festus Adebayo, the founder and CEO of the Africa International Housing Show, stated in his welcoming statement that the event was a celebration of ideas, advancements, and strong alliances.
According to Adebayo, the event brought together a range of stakeholders to be motivated by innovative ideas, daring discussions, and exciting exhibitions to advance the housing industry.
“This is where business meets impact, from high-level conference sessions to thrilling product showcases and investment matchmaking.”
He declared, “Let’s work together to build Africa’s future.”
