Yul Edochie, a Nigerian actress, has raised alarm about the country’s rising incidence of premature deaths, especially in the southeast.
According to reports, the director advocated for the return to traditional religious rituals.
Edochie, in a Facebook post, said he recently drove from Anambra State to Arochukwu in Abia State and was surprised by the amount of obituary boards he noticed along the way.

He believes that the high rate of premature death is due to society’s abandonment of traditional methods.

He added that the spirits of the ancestors are furious because they have been neglected, asking Nigerians to reconnect with their roots by practicing traditional religion.

He stated that doing so will result in spiritual cleansing and assist the country in overcoming its issues.

Edochie also said that connecting with ancestor spirits will enable them to wage wars on behalf of individuals and communities.

He emphasized that Nigeria requires extensive spiritual assistance.

He wrote: “As I went from Anambra to Arochukwu, Abia state, I observed numerous obituary posters. Too many people die prematurely. And that is because we have abandoned our conventional methods. Our forefathers and spirits are outraged. We need to return to our original faith, align with our ancestors and spirits, and they will fight our wars. “Our society requires spiritual purification.”
