Uba Sani, Kaduna State’s governor, has denied reports that he is hanging out with robbers.
Sani refuted claims that he provided financial support to bandits in an interview on Prime Time, an Arise Television program, on Thursday. He claimed that his government had instead constructed homes for banditry victims in the state.
Sani said that when he first took office as governor, he was accused by some of attempting to finance bandits in order to address the state’s insecurity problem.
He stated, “I told them that a man who fought for justice and the liberation of the oppressed cannot sit down with bandits.”
According to the governor, he started a scheme two weeks ago to give insurgency victims homes instead of paying robbers.

He went on to say, “I have constructed homes for the victims of banditry in Kaduna, but I have not given the bandits a single naira.”
For such programs to be successful, Sani pointed out that the community must be the driving force.
As a governor, you can’t support it; it needs to be a community-based project. “They must possess it,” he remarked.
Sani claimed that because of an inclusive strategy his administration implemented that, in his words, welcomes all groups, there haven’t been any recent farmer-herder disputes in the state.
“In Kaduna, there hasn’t been a single farmer-herder conflict today. We resolve this by being inclusive. You must include everyone. To instruct you how to manage your state, President Tinubu didn’t have to travel to the north,” he remarked.
