The member of the House of Representatives for Oyo State’s Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West federal constituency, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, also known as Odidiomo, has declared his full support for the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, also known as “Don,” ahead of the August 16 bye-election for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat.
According to a statement released by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Tolu Mustapha, Olajide, the Chairman of the House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity, characterized the PDP candidate as a dynamic and seasoned politician who can provide people in Oyo State’s Ibadan North federal constituency with high-quality representation.
Olajide called on party supporters and constituency residents to support Oyekunle during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting, where he also handed over campaign materials donated by the two-term PDP lawmaker in support of the by-election. He stressed that continuity of purposeful representation must not be disrupted.
Hon. Don is trusted and tried,” he stated. As a former member of the House of Assembly and, most recently, as the executive governor of Oyo State’s deputy chief of staff, he has served the people of Oyo State. In addition to being familiar with the terrain and understanding governance, he shares Governor Seyi Makinde’s aim for rapid growth. We should all be behind him.

As per the release, Olajide emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two nearby federal constituencies and added that a win for Oyekunle would solidify the PDP’s hold on Ibadanland and bolster the state’s representation in the National Assembly.
Hon. Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban), the seat’s late occupant, worked hard before passing away unexpectedly, and he should be replaced by a candidate who will continue to provide high-quality representation, he said.
Following the passing of Hon. Akinremi in July 2024, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) scheduled the by-election for August 16, 2025. Since then, the position has remained unfilled, and political parties are working harder to win over this important constituency.
