Comedian Klinton: ‘Nigerians Hate Kemi Badenoch Because She’s Too Honest’

Nigerian comedian Ekene Clinton Egbuna, better known online as KlintonCod, has offered commentary on the current controversy over UK lawmaker Kemi Badenoch’s remarks regarding life at Nigerian boarding schools.
After comparing Badenoch’s stay at a Federal Government Girls’ College in Sagamu to life behind bars, the comedian reportedly responded to the criticism she received.
He claims that a lot of Nigerians seem to despise Badenoch just because she speaks the truth, even when it goes against the nation’s interests.

He related his personal experience attending a boys-only boarding school, characterizing the harsh routines and high walls as being reminiscent of a jail.

The existence of midterm vacations and holidays, he claimed, was the primary distinction between his school and a prison.

at contrast to his time at Nigerian boarding school, KlintonCod noted that living in those correctional facilities seemed more comfortable when he compared his experience to that of the prisoners he had observed while visiting UK prisons for business.

I have not yet discovered a single, convincing explanation for why Nigerians don’t like Kemi Badenoch,” he stated. The only explanation I can think of is that she is overly honest, and those who don’t like her believe that her honesty tends to highlight Nigeria’s shortcomings. Do I have this right?

She claimed that everyone is upset and that her boarding school in Sagamu was like a prison. See, I’ve told a lot of people about my own boarding school, which was only for guys, and the truth is that it was secure and resembled a prison. We got midterm breaks and holidays, which set us apart from the inmates. Other than that, nothing changed!

The few times I’ve visited prisons in the UK for work, the inmates there had a significantly higher standard of living than I did while attending boarding school, but I’ve never been to a prison in Nigeria.

“It’s acceptable to hate her if you want to, but it’s also acceptable to acknowledge the truth when someone you don’t like says it.”
