The West African Examination Council (WAEC) Nigeria office has declared that its result checker webpage will be suspended for 24 hours.

A technical glitch caused the result checker portal to be briefly suspended, according to a statement released by Moyosola Adesina, Head of Public Affairs.

“WAEC hereby notifies the general public that the result checker portal @waecdirect.org is temporarily shut down due to technical issues,” the notice stated.

The Council is making every effort to guarantee that candidates can view their findings within the next day, though.

“We are sorry if this has caused you any inconvenience. “Thank you,” the notice continued.

Recall that the Council announced the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results on Monday.

1,973,365 students from 23,554 accredited secondary schools in Nigeria registered for the main exam.

Of them, 1,969,313 applicants took the test.

Interestingly, candidates from schools that employ the Nigerian curriculum, such as those in the Benin Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, and Equatorial Guinea, also took the test, demonstrating that it was not just a Nigerian exam.
