Police arrest 68 suspects ,recover #75 million stolen SUV

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 68 suspected criminals including members of a syndicate that specialized in swindling prospective overseas students.

Other suspects were reportedly arrested for armed robbery ,murder and traffic robbery

The state police commissioner , Olohundare Jimoh ,a a press conference at the state command headquarters, Ikeja,also disclosed that the police recovered 17 firearms

CP Jimoh also told newsmen that the police recovered stolen vehicles ,including a #75 million worth of Lexus SUV

Jimoh attributed the successes recorded during the operations to ‘new strategies, and robust support from the Inspector-General of Police and the Lagos State Governor.,Babajide Sanwo Olu’

He commended public-spirited individuals for their timely information,which has helped the police in the fight against criminality

He told newsmen that, “The police showcased several key recoveries, including 17 different types of firearms, comprising English pistols and a high-powered assault rifle.
The command also recovered four vehicles used by criminals, six laptops, and other items.
“Among the specific cases highlighted is car robbery On July 12, 2025, operatives arrested Biliaminu, 26,an ex-convict, for armed robbery after he allegedly snatched a Toyota Camry from its owner. The vehicle was promptly intercepted and recovered .”

The police boss further stated that detectives from the state command intercepted a 2021 model Lexus SUV,Hybrid, valued at over N75 million, which had been stolen from outside the country and brought into Lagos for sale.

Meanwhile, the suspect, who could not provide registration or import documents, has been arrested.” the police boss stated
” One Chance gang: The command announced the arrest of a notorious “one chance” syndicate operating with a Suzuki mini bus

. The gang, which includes: a female member to deceive victims, was apprehended after attacking and robbing a businesswoman of hundreds of thousands of naira ”
The police boss assured that investigations are ongoing for all the cases and that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion.
Jimoh also reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring public safety and building on its achievements.
