Ubi Franklin, a music businessman, has refuted allegations that he stole a high-end wristwatch during his weekend attendance at Davido’s wedding in Miami, USA.
According to reports, a blog post that connected him to the alleged theft sparked the allegation’s online spread on Wednesday.
In a thorough statement on his 𝕏 account, Franklin described how a man named Benny contacted him in Miami and attempted to sell him a watch.
After examining its past, he elected not to buy it to avoid future complications.
He claims that Benny’s brother gave him another wristwatch during the wedding church service, and he accepted and paid for it in full.
He claimed that because of how hectic the wedding was, he ended up holding both watches for a short while but gave one back before departing.
Franklin claimed that Benny phoned him regarding the other watch while he was flying from Miami, where he had departed quickly to get ready for his sister’s burial.
He maintained that Benny had already denied the rumor before it went online and that he had never stolen anything in his life.
“I am aware of the recent social media circulation that has connected my name to an alleged theft,” he stated. I want to be clear that these accusations are misleading and wholly untrue.

I just got back from attending my beloved friend/sister’s wedding, and I’m getting ready for her funeral this weekend. Although my family and I are going through a very trying and delicate period, I believe it is critical to have a clear conversation about this issue.
Benny offered to sell me a wristwatch when we met in Miami. To avoid any potential issues, I examined the item and verified its prior ownership before deciding not to buy it. I told him that quite plainly.
“Benny sent me another wristwatch with his brother during the wedding church service. something I had fully paid for when I bought it.
I had both of the wristwatches because of the hectic wedding situation, and I wore the one he sent me via his brother.
“I had to leave Miami right away after the wedding in order to finalize my sister’s burial, which is this weekend. Benny called me when I was in the air about the other wristwatch.
“I want to state clearly: I am not a thief. In my entire life, I have never stolen from anyone. I paid Benny in full for the wristwatch I bought. Even after Benny refuted this report earlier in the day, it continued to circulate. Thank you for the messages and calls 🙏🏿 This is my last statement on the matter.
