In the bye-elections that are set for Saturday, August 16, 2025, across the nation, Senator David Mark, National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has encouraged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to adhere to the ideals of impartiality and transparency.
Additionally, Mark encouraged the electoral umpire to go out a procedure that will rebuild public confidence in the voting process.
The former Senate president praised the party’s candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly, calling the ADC a “child of necessity,” originating from a sincere desire to provide Nigerians with an alternative and better administration.

In the states of Anambra, Edo, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kano, Niger, and Ogun, the ADC will run candidates in the bye-elections for senators, the House of Representatives, and state houses of assembly.
In a statement, Senator Mark’s media adviser, Paul Mumeh, urged voters to give the party a chance to establish its credibility.
He underlined that a genuinely free, fair, and credible election on Saturday might help restore INEC’s reputation, reminding it that “all eyes are on the Commission” to rectify previous mistakes that have damaged its public image.
The former president of the Senate praised the bravery and commitment of ADC candidates and urged them and their supporters to abide by electoral regulations while being on guard against intimidation or manipulation.
Senator Mark also urged security services to ensure that everyone is treated equally and that the people’s will be allowed to triumph unhindered.
