According to Debo Ologunagba, the national publicity secretary for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, is unable to impose requirements on the party.
During a news conference on Wednesday, Ologunagba made this statement in response to a recent statement made by Wike.
He stated that the caretaker committee will continue to operate until a new congress is held in the South-South and that the party does not follow orders from anyone.
“PDP has not accepted any conditions from anyone and will not do so. In any case, we will adhere to our constitution. They have been operating as the South-South zone caretaker committee that we have.

“Every eligible member from that zone will be entitled to contest when congresses to fill those vacancies come up,” he stated.
He claims that although participants are able to depart from the party, doing so would be detrimental to them, referring to it as a “voyage of no discovery.”
Ologunagba went on to say that former members are welcome to rejoin the PDP since it is special.
