
The Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, yesterday, held a strategic meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders to review recent operations, evaluate performance, and set new security priorities for the nations capital.
The CP also read riot acts to officers and men of the command, warning again misconducts.
Adewale, in the meeting held at the command headquarters in Abuja, warned against unauthorized roadblocks, extortion during enforcements of any kind, and other misconducts, just as he charged them to remain vigilant and avoid intoxicants.
FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, in a statement, said with the ember months, political activities, and Independence day celebrations approaching, the CP directed officers to intensify intelligence-led operations, enhance community relations, and remain firm, fair, and professional.
She said the CP highlighted significant operational achievements in the month under review, including the arrest of 523 suspects during raids and for various offenses, impoundment of 126 vehicles , rescue of three kidnapped victims, neutralization of four kidnappers in separate encounters, recovery of six rifles, 48 rounds of ammunition, and 13 stolen vehicles.
CP Ajao, who commended the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for foiling various kidnapping attempt in Gwagwalada and Karu Area Council, a proactive action that averted a potential security crisis, emphasized the importance of community policing, noting ongoing engagements with religious leaders, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Miyetti Allah, and other stakeholders. The CP equally Commended the Scorpion Squad, RRS, and divisional teams in Kubwa, Life Camp, Galadimawa, Mpape, Nyanya, Durumi, CP MMU-1, and Anti-One-Chance Team ‘B’.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and called on residents to support the police by providing credible information to the police.
