The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has presented cheques of #24,144,997.49 to 22 families of police officers, who died in active service.
The presentation forms part of the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes of the Nigeria Police Force, designed provide financial relief and sustained support to the families of officers, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
In a statement yesterday by Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO) SP Abimbola Adebisi, the gesture reflects the unwavering commitment of the 22nd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, to the welfare and well-being of police personnel and their families.
“It underscores his compassionate leadership, genuine concern, and steadfast resolve to ensure that the sacrifices of gallant officers are never forgotten, while offering comfort and stability to their dependents.
“CP Olohundare Jimoh expressed deep appreciation to the IGP , for his continuous dedication to officers’ welfare and his thoughtful interventions that restore hope to bereaved families. He noted that such gestures not only strengthen the morale of serving officers but also reaffirm that their dedication to public safety is valued and recognised.”
The CP extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen heroes, praying that God would grant them comfort and strength. He reaffirmed that the Command holds the memory of the deceased officers in the highest esteem and urged the beneficiaries to find solace in the noble legacy of their loved ones who died in service to humanity.”
