The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested Jame Jidda, 22,of Ilelaryari , Birnin Kebbi for allegedly stabbing his friend ,Salihu Hassan,17 , to death over argument.
kebbi state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Nafiu Abubakar in a statement,said, “on the November 24, 2025, at about 7 am, information received revealed, that one Salihu Hassan,17, of Gura Guri village , Makera district, Birnin Kebbi LG, Kebbi State, was seen lying down in the pool of his own blood at Ilelaryari , Birnin Kebbi.
“Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Birnin Kebbi, mobilized a team of policemen and vigilantes to the scene and swiftly evacuated the victim to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Birnin Kebbi, where a medical practitioner certified the victim dead.
“Following a credible lead, one Jame Jidda, 22,of Ilelaryari, Birnin Kebbi town, has been arrested in connection with the case. In the course of preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to have used a shape knife and stabbed the deceased in his neck, as a result of mere argument.
“Efforts are being intensified to recover the exhibits and transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Birnin Kebbi, for further investigation.
“In the light of the above, CP Bello M Sani, hereby appealed to the youths in the state to always seek redress from the appropriate authorities, when aggrieved, instead of referring to self help”.
The Command also disclosed that their officers arrested two suspected motorcycles snatcher at Warrah town in Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
He said: ” on November 23, 2025, at about 0730hrs, one Muhammad Sa’idu ‘m’ age 22yrs of Kwanga village, and Kabiru Suleiman ‘m’ of Warrah town, Ngaski LG, Kebbi State, were arrested by the Divisional Police Officer, Warrah, for stealing one Bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Murtala Ibrahim ‘m’ of Warrah town.
“When interrogated, he confessed to have been conspiring with one Abdulrahman of Tungan Mairuwa village, Hassan Kamaye and Hussaini Kamaye both ‘m’ of Auna town, Magama LG of Niger State, Yahuza Aliyu Warrah and Umar Kapon still at large.
“When search was conducted at the residence of Yahuza Aliyu, the following items; two sewing machines, two boat engines, three pumping machines, two generator sets, two grinding machines, one plasma TV, four motorcycles, one six KG gass cylinder cooker, two big solar panels, and three motorcycle tanks were recovered as exhibits”.
