Gunmen suspected to be Lakurawa terrorists have killed nine Soldiers and a Policeman in an ambush at Giro Masa, Shanga Local Government , Kebbi State.
Daily Sun gathered that the incident occured on Tuesday night when the terrorists after killing the soldiers and policeman, also set ablaze two gun trucks belonging to the soldiers.
Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris who visited the Federal Teaching Hospital, Birnin Kebbi, to pay respect to the fallen soldiers expressed sadness over the incident.
He also condemned the killing of security personnel who were protecting lives and properties of our people.
“I sympathise with the families of the military officers and that of policeman who were killed in the course of serving the nation,” he said.
Idris was received by the head of clinical services of the hospital, Ashiru Ladan, who took him on a tour of the mortuary where the bodies of the soldiers were deposited.
The governor also visited the Accident and Emergency ward, where two injured soldiers were receiving treatment.
Idris pledged the determination of his administration to continue in supporting security efforts.
According to him:”As a government, we offer our condolences to the military and police authorities for the loss of their men in the course of their official duties,” the governor said.
