With the theme “Let’s make Katsina state work again,” the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held an enlarged caucus meeting on Sunday.
Thousands of party stakeholders from the 361 wards in the state’s 34 Local Government units attended the meeting.
Sen. Yakubu Lado Danmarke, the 2023 candidate for governor and Katsina leader, blasted the ADC’s establishment in response to the high number of PDP supporters there, claiming that the PDP is still stronger and more cohesive.
He said that the PDP had extremely strong state and national support, even in light of recent defections to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Senator Danmarke claimed that the ADC’s formation does not pose a threat to the PDP since it is a group of disgruntled politicians who are doing everything in their power to get advantages.
According to him, the state’s PDP will become even more united and powerful as a result of some of its members defecting to the coalition group.
“We are pleased that individuals who were obstructing the party’s advancement are no longer with us. We confided in them and trusted them, but they betrayed us,” he stated.
Nonetheless, the state PDP leader urged the populace to maintain their resolve, emphasizing that the PDP is the only political party capable of rescuing the nation from the poor leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The state PDP Chairman, Alhaji Nura Amadi Kurfi, had earlier thanked everyone for attending the caucus meeting and said it was a sign of the party’s increasing popularity in the state.
Kurfi continued, “This meeting is an opportunity to address key issues and reposition our party for victory in future elections.”
