After leaving Katsina United earlier in the 2024–2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season to play for Al-Nser ZSC of Libya, Azeez Falolu is reportedly close to rejoining the team.
After completing his medicals, Azeez Falolu is poised to sign a new contract with the Chanji Boys, according to sources close to the transaction.
This is a homecoming for one of the most admired defenders in the NPFL, who declined rival offers from Shooting Stars and Rivers United to return to his old team.

Katsina United, who finished in 15th place last season and just avoided relegation, are expected to benefit greatly from Falolu’s comeback. He might play a key role in stabilizing a backline that had trouble staying consistent during the previous campaign.

Although Falolu’s comeback might signal the beginning of a more stable season for the northern team, supporters are becoming more hopeful despite the club’s lack of an official declaration.

A week-long screening exercise has begun at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium as part of Katsina United’s preparations for the 2025–2026 NPFL season.

During the open trials, which started on Thursday, 41 prospective players demonstrated their abilities in front of the club’s technical staff.

As part of Katsina United’s efforts to improve their developmental pipeline, club officials indicated that players selected from the exercise will be allocated into different categories, including the Junior Team, U-20, and U-23 squads.

As the club gets preparing for the upcoming season, they resumed full training earlier this week, with last season’s retained players currently in camp.

Arsenal has revealed that Louis Zecevic-John, an academy prospect, has agreed to his first professional deal with the team in another European country.

As the young player continues to grow under Mikel Arteta, the club announced the news on their website on Friday, stating that he “needs to fulfil his potential.”

Serie A winners Napoli and Udinese have officially signed Lorenzo Lucca to a season-long loan with a buyout clause.

With the tweet, “Welcome Lorenzo,” Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis greeted the striker. The estimated value of the deal is €35 million.

Lucca is already at the Dimaro-Folgarida training camp with Antonio Conte’s team.
