After making a suggestion that he would run for president in 2027, former vice president Atiku Abubakar has rekindled political discussions by promising that a formal announcement would be made “in due course.”
In a widely circulated viral tweet on his 𝕏 Twitter, Atiku reportedly made the remarks during a brief conversation with reporters.
“We will let you know,” the 77-year-old politician, who has been running for president since 1993, said confidently when asked about his plans for the 2027 contest and when he would formally declare his candidacy. We’ll make an official announcement for you.
When asked what would happen if he didn’t win the 2027 presidential election, Atiku said, “Have I ever failed to receive the ticket? I feel secure.

In response to demands for younger people to run for office, Atiku insisted that democracy gives everyone an equal opportunity to run.
“Now let the young people compete.” “It’s democracy,” he declared.
According to what Naija News believes, Atiku would run on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), whose members include Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State, who has also indicated interest in running for president in 2027.
The coalition member and Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi has also persisted on running in the upcoming election.
Atiku’s most recent bid to obtain the party’s ticket indicates that the former vice president is not prepared to resign in favor of any coalition candidate.
