After being kidnapped by armed bandits on Tuesday, Alhaji Babangida Kogo, the paramount ruler of Yankuzo in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government Area, has been released.
According to reports, the king was kidnapped after an airstrike killed dozens of suspected bandits, raising suspicions among Ado Allero’s gang members that he had provided military assistance.
As he fled his neighborhood after a deadly Nigerian Air Force (NAF) raid, he was apprehended along the Mararraba axis and freed late Tuesday night by the gang of famed bandits’ kingpin, Ado Allero.

The king was reunited with his family on Thursday as he returned to his palace in Yankuzo.
The bandits allegedly accused the king of giving the military intelligence, which resulted in the precision strike that killed numerous terrorists at a forest enclave between Yankuzo and Munhaye earlier that day, according to sources. There were about thirty verified deaths and several injuries.
But after being held captive for a few hours, Ado Allero and his soldiers apparently decided he had nothing to do with the military operation, and he was released.
“A ransom was not paid. According to a security source, they questioned him and discovered that he was not involved in the attack.
