Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), has endorsed the upcoming Africa Tourism and Creative Economy Expo (AFTCEE), which will be held in Abuja in November of this year.
Iweala, who is scheduled to attend the event, urged African nations to take advantage of the upcoming event’s opportunity to leverage their cultural and creative endowments for faster economic growth and commerce.

In a letter to the CEO of Afrocultour, Mr. Chuks Akamadu, the event’s organizers, titled ‘Optimizing Africa’s Comparative and Competitive Advantage for Accelerated Trade and Economic Growth,’ she emphasized the continent’s abundant cultural and tourism opportunities.
She emphasized the importance of leveraging these advantages to integrate more thoroughly into global and regional supply chains, saying that the WTO believes services are the future of trade, with tourism and the creative economy playing a key role.
The former Nigerian finance minister wishes the planners a successful and impactful event, saying she looks forward to participating.
The Africa Tourism and Creative Economy Expo is planned to bring together stakeholders from throughout the continent and beyond, with the goal of increasing trade, tourism, and cultural interaction.
