TikTok influencer Peller has allegedly been summoned to pay ₦36 million in income tax to the Lagos State Government.
Peller, who gained notoriety last year, reportedly disclosed this in a live broadcast alongside Peruzzi, a musician.
He claimed the tax agency had presented him with this enormous tax bill, which he believes is out of proportion to his current income and recent pay increase.
Peruzzi entered the conversation, reminding Peller that Nigerians are required by law to pay taxes. He also emphasized that his personal tax payments are higher than what Peller was required to pay.
In order to prevent legal issues, including potential jail time, the singer recommended Peller to pay the tax debt as soon as possible.
“Taskforce advised me to pay ₦36 million in taxes. I have nothing. I only gained attention last year,” he bemoaned.

“What is the reason behind your failure to pay taxes? Are you aware that as a Nigerian, you must pay taxes? Do you know how much tax I pay? There is more to it than the tax bill they sent you, but I won’t go into it here,” Peruzzi added.
However, Peller maintained that the tax demand was excessive and said that the government had never provided him with any assistance as a result of his TikTok activity.
He added that because he publicly flaunted his wealth and revealed his TikTok profits, the government singled him out.
Peruzzi recommended that Peller ask for further time to set up payment, but Peller insisted that social media, not local Nigerian sources, are the primary source of his revenue.
