An ex-convict has been rearrested five days after he finished his two-year jail term for the same offence of motorcycle theft.
The suspect, Precious Okoro, is on his way back to the Ogwashi-Uku Correctional Centre in Delta State, from where he was released on August 6, 2025.
He was arrested alongside his accomplice for stealing a motorcycle, the same offence that sent him to jail about two years ago.
According to the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on August 11, around 3.30pm, a patrol team of Eagle-Net Special Squad, Asaba, while on visibility patrol, received a distress call about a missing motorcycle.
“In a combined effort with some members of Nigeria Hunters Security Services (NFSS), they arrested one Precious Okoro, 27, of Ulo Street, Asaba, and Buhari Deyegu, 18, of Ibusa Road, Asaba, and the missing motorcycle was recovered from them.
“The said suspect is an ex-convict who was released from Ogwashi-Uku correctional facility, August 6, 2025, after completing his jail term of two years for a similar offence of stealing a motorcycle.
“The suspect went back to the street to steal another motorcycle, just five days after returning from prison. “Investigation was extended to the suspect’s residence, where a search warrant was executed, and one Tiger generator, one big Firman generator and one iron measuring scale were recovered. The suspect is in custody.”
