The Dangote Group allegedly abandoned a 22-year-old woman at Auchi, Edo State’s Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital after she was crushed by the company’s truck driver, according to Martins Otse, a well-known social media activist and pundit who goes by the handle VeryDarkMan, or VDM.

A video of the hospitalized sufferer was posted on Monday by VeryDarkMan on his Instagram story.

He claims that the victim, whose identity was kept a secret, has been treated at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital and has an outstanding medical bill of more than N5 million.

He mentioned that he participated in the demonstration against Dangote’s truck’s movement in Auchi.

The protester called on the management of Dangote’s vehicle to provide for all of the victims.

“When we arrived at Auchi, Edo State’s Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, we discovered a 22-year-old girl who had been crushed while pursuing her project and had been left behind by Dangote’s careless unlicensed driver. Dangote has left her in the hospital for 11 months, with costs totaling more than 5 million naira.

“Tell the world that if the victims of Dangote’s unlicensed truck drivers are not well cared for by @dangotegroup, we will not permit any Dangote trucks to enter Auchi today. Hello, @aliko_dangotegcon Being the wealthiest man in Africa and the head of security services, we are powerless to oppose you. “We are merely urging you to accept accountability,” he wrote.

As this news was being filed, Dangote Group has not yet addressed the accusation.

This occurs just days after Phyna Otabor, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, criticized Dangote Group for the collision of her sister Ruth in the Auchi neighborhood of Edo State caused by the company’s truck.

The Dangote Group, however, promised in a statement three days ago to cover Ruth Otabor’s medical expenses.

The incidents involving the vehicles of the Dangote Group occur just as the refinery is preparing to use 4,000 brand-new compressed natural gas trucks for direct fuel distribution across the country.

But the program that was originally scheduled to start on August 15th hasn’t started yet.

Truck numbering, according to the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), is the reason Dangote Refinery was unable to start its petrol and diesel distribution program on Friday, August 15, 2025.

The investigation verified that several truck cargoes had been delivered to Dangote Refinery.
