Kano State police command has impounded 104 motorcycles and 68 tricycles following the enforcement of the ban on conveyance of passenger on motorcycle for commercial purposes and the restriction of tricycles from 10 pm to 6.00am in the metropolis of the state.

A statement signed by Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa yesterday, explained that the tricycles and motorcycles were impounded in the last one week, starting from January1 to date.
The statement explained that the offenders have been charged to court in connection with the alleged violation of the order
He warned that the police and sister security organizations would continue to enforce the order in the state
“The ban on passenger conveyance on motorcycles for commercial purposes (Achaba/Okada) and the restriction of tricycles from 10pm to 6am remains in place, and the public is urged to comply with the regulations” the statement declared
“The affected Local Governments are: Kano Municipal, Gwale, Dala, Fagge, Nassarawa, Tarauni, Kumbotso, Ungogo (Jido Area), and Dawakin Kudu (Tamburawa, Gurjiya and Jido Ward) the statement clarified.”
The statement commended the combined security agencies, including the Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA), for their efforts in enforcing the ban and restriction and enjoined the public to report any violations or suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
“The Kano State Police Command reiterates its commitment to ensuring public safety and security in the state and will continue to take necessary measures to enforce the ban and restriction” said the statement.”
