A group, National Patriots, has commended Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP) Olohundare Jimoh for his outstanding leadership, professionalism and dedication to public safety in the state.
The group also bestowed on the CP the Exceptional Service Award.
In a letter of commendation to the police boss,
president, National Patriots, Princess Gloria Adebajo-Fraser, said, “Policing Lagos—Africa’s largest urban economic hub and one of the most complex megacities in the world—requires exceptional discipline, operational intelligence and strategic coordination.
“With a population exceeding 20 million residents and daily movements running into millions, maintaining order in such an environment is a significant responsibility.
“Under your leadership, the Lagos State Police Command has demonstrated commendable professionalism and proactive crime prevention. Intelligence-led operations and regular raids on criminal hideouts across the state led to the recovery of over 100 illegal firearms, including AK-47 rifles, from criminal elements. These efforts significantly disrupted criminal networks and strengthened public confidence in law enforcement.
“Equally noteworthy has been your balanced approach to policing. Throughout your tenure, Lagos has successfully hosted numerous major public and international events, including marathon races, cycling competitions, fashion exhibitions, culinary festivals and large civic gatherings—without major security incidents.
This stability reflects careful planning, coordination and adherence to modern policing standards expected in a global city.
“Your commitment to respecting fundamental rights while maintaining public order has been particularly commendable.
“Protests and civic demonstrations were managed with restraint and professionalism, with consistent emphasis on dialogue, lawful conduct and the protection of citizens’ constitutional freedoms.
“Your leadership style demonstrated that firm policing can coexist with respect for human dignity and democratic values.
“Security stakeholders widely acknowledge that Lagos experienced improved safety during your tenure due to proactive policing, community engagement and intelligence-driven strategies.
“The intelligence-led operational culture you fostered within the Lagos State Police Command has strengthened discipline, professionalism and public trust.
“It is, therefore, our considered view that Lagos has been fortunate to benefit from your service.
The standards you have set in responsible policing will remain a benchmark for future officers serving in this critical command.
“In recognition of your integrity, professionalism, and exceptional performance in safeguarding lives and property, the National Patriots is pleased to confer upon you the
