President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared on Wednesday that he has learned from people who continually attack him.
The president made the statement during a town hall meeting with political leaders in Benue State, which has seen at least 100 people killed by armed herders in recent months.
“Whatever I do, they will insult me. Tinubu stated, “I read the papers and learn from their criticism because I cannot see everything.”
Speaking to Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, he stated, “Your political opponents do not want you to succeed.” “Are you just realizing it?”
He urged leaders from throughout the region to cooperate.
“We can’t do without each other.
“I will convene a leadership council in Abuja to devise a long-term peace strategy, and I am willing to invest in that peace,” he continued.
The president also instructed Alia to collaborate with all stakeholders and serve as a father figure to everyone in the state.

He announced the formation of a Committee of Elders, which will comprise all former Benue governors as well as the current governor of Nasarawa State, to assist in charting a course for peace.
Tinubu also encouraged the governor to grant ranching land as part of his attempts to address the ongoing farmer-herder problem.
Tinubu appealed to the people of Benue, urging them to band together and work for long-term peace.
He also urged traditional rulers to work together with the government to achieve stability and reconciliation.
Tinubu advised Alia, “Be prepared for insults—that is the yoke of leadership.” Get your lamp. Seek out these leaders and work together to discover solutions.”
