# Prayer And Support For The Nigerian Armed
Forces and Other Security Agencies PSNAFSA strongly condemns the killing of Brigadier General Oseni Braimah and other gallant soldiers on April 8, 2026, during an attack on the Damboa Military Base in Borno State.
This heinous and cowardly act is a stark indication of the grave dangers our servicemen and women confront daily in defence of Nigeria’s sovereignty.
In a statement by PSNAFSA Convener, Mary Abayomi Fatile, said,”PSNAFSA sends its deepest condolences and heartfelt commiseration to the families of Brigadier General Braimah and all the fallen soldiers. We share in their grief and pray that Almighty God grants them the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss, and also grants the departed eternal rest. No words can truly fill the void left behind, but the nation stands in solidarity with them in this moment of sorrow.
“W e salute the courage, sacrifice, and steadfast patriotism of these fallen heroes who left behind their loved ones to serve the nation at the ultimate cost of their lives. Their bravery remains deeply ingrained in the conscience of a grateful nation. We also honour all officers and soldiers who have paid the supreme price since the onset of insurgency in Nigeria. Their blood will not be shed in vain.
While this loss is devastating, it must be acknowledged that these sacrifices have not been without impact. The Nigerian Military has, over the years, dealt deadly blows to terrorist enclaves, decimating several of their leaders and fighters, and dismantling numerous camps. However, the persistence of such attacks signals an urgent need for renewed, decisive, and coordinated action.
“#PSNAFSA calls for a resolute national will to end these unwarranted killings of military personnel. The implications of continued attacks on our troops are far-reaching, affecting morale, operational effectiveness, and national security at large. The time to act decisively is now.
“We urge the Federal Government and all relevant stakeholders to identify, name, and shame sponsors of terrorism, while taking concrete steps to cut off their financial and logistical networks. The channels through which arms and ammunition are trafficked into the country must be effectively blocked, and those complicit brought to justice without delay.
“This fight must transcend the military alone, it is a collective national responsibility. Nigerians must unite in purpose, support security agencies, and contribute actively to intelligence gathering and vigilance within their communities.
Only through a united front can we restore lasting peace and security in our nation.”
