Gunmen suspected to be terrorists have abducted the wife of a village head and another resident during a midnight attack on Kurmin Jarmai village, Agunu Ward,Kachia Local Government, Kaduna State.
The attackers reportedly invaded the community in the early hours of yesterday, at about 1:30 a.m., looting homes and carting away valuables, including three motorcycles.
Among those abducted during the raid is Mrs. Peace Ephraim Magaji, the wife of the village head of Kurmin Jarmai.
Also taken away by the gunmen is Baiwa Danjuma Magaji.
Community sources said the assailants moved from house to house, ransacking homes before fleeing with the victims and the stolen motorcycles.
As of the time of filing this report, the kidnappers had not established contact with the families of the abductees.
Residents of the community have expressed deep concern over the attack, describing the abduction of the village head’s wife as particularly painful for the community.
Community members, therefore, called for prayers and urgent intervention by security agencies to ensure the safe return of the victims and to end the persistent insecurity affecting communities in Adara land and parts of southern Kaduna.
Kaduna State has witnessed repeated attacks and abductions in several rural communities in recent times, raising concerns among residents over the safety of lives and property.
Meanwhile, both the Kaduna State Police Command and the Ministry for Internal Security and Home Affairs have not made any public statement on the development as of the time of filing this report.
