Chris Oji is a seasoned journalist with over two decades of reportorial experience, focusing mostly on crime and human interest stories. He has been two times President of The prestigious Crime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria( CRAN). A graduate of Literary Studies from the then Bendel State University, now Professor Ambrose Ali University ,Edo State, he also holds a Diploma in Salesmanship from Manchester in the United Kingdom. He has worked in several companies as Sales Executive, including the Leben Pharmaceutical Company, a subsidiary of Gracure, India, from where he joined the defunct Concord Newspapers, Lagos. It was in the Concord that he honed his skills in Journalism. The Concord Newspapers offered him the rare opportunity of acquring many certificates and trainings, especially in crime reporting and disaster management. In the course of his work as a journalist, he has travelled to many place within and outside Nigeria to cover disaster and war scenes. He has worked in many national dailies, starting with The Daily Time Newspapers, The Sun Newspapers and many others too numerous to mention. His contributions in Journalism earned him several awards, some of which include National Community Award 2022 as ICON of Media Excellence in print Journalism; Excellence Award in Public Relations by the Crime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria ( CRAN) 2018; Silent Hero Award in crime and disaster reporting by Silent Heroes initiative ( 2019); Star Award in Leadership by the Crime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria in the year 2016; Crime buster of the year 2013 by City Pride Communication; Excellence Award in crime reporting by Lagos Hall of Fame Award, 2017 and Outstanding Crime Editor of the year 2019 by the National Crime watch Magazines among others.
