Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Yemi Oyeniyi, has called for collaboration among security agencies to combat crime and criminality in the state.
He said that timely intelligence sharing, mutual respect, and coordinated operations among security agencies are key to success in the fight against criminal elements and emerging security threats.
The CP spoke during visits to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), as part of efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration across the state.
He noted the existing partnership between the Police and the NSCDC in protecting critical national assets and called for sustained cooperation among security agencies.
According to the Delta State Police Command PRO, SP Bright Edafe, the CP was accompanied by members of the Command Management Team. CP Oyeniyi was received at the NSCDC by State Commandant Chinedu Fabian Igbo, where he stressed the importance of collaboration.
At the FRSC Sector Command (Sector 5.2), Sector Commander Charles Eyo Edem welcomed the delegation. The CP commended the Corps for its efforts in road safety management and the reduction of traffic-related incidents, while emphasising the need for joint operations, continuous information exchange, and operational support along major highways.
In his remarks, the CP reiterated that synergy remains the cornerstone of effective security operations, adding that no single agency can achieve optimal results in isolation.
He assured both agencies of the Command’s readiness to strengthen existing ties and explore new avenues for collaboration, especially in the areas of crime prevention, emergency response, and public enlightenment.
The visits form part of his broader engagement strategy aimed at fostering unity of purpose among security stakeholders and reinforcing a collective commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Delta State, he said.
